King George V – named for the English monarch, is the highest grade of blended scotch whiskey in Johnnie Walker’s premium Blue Label range – in honour of the occasion, our client Diageo hosted an exclusive and special event to commemorate the launch
The event was held at the old City Hall building, which fittingly was commissioned by King George VI – son of George V and an inspirational figure of British leadership during World War II. The building was also the venue where the Japanese signed the device of surrender in 1945, thus bringing the occupation in Singapore to an end – indeed, the dinner itself was held in the very chambers where the signing took place
Mirroring the rich history of both Johnnie Walker and Singapore – we transformed the surrender chambers into an upper class colonial setting, with an English style bar, chic dining facilities and red coated guardsmen watching over the hero of the evening – the King George V!
